Bracknell Labour Serving you here
Hanworth Councillors
Cath Thompson, Borough Councillor for Hanworth and Town Councillor for Birch Hill & North Lake. I have mostly worked in the Social Care sector, gaining a degree in Health and Social Care, and caring for those with learning disabilities and dementia. For the past 15 years I have been an informal carer and have learnt how to navigate the complexities of the social care system. Previously, I served as a primary school governor and I currently run a parent and toddler group. I also help with a Friday club to help counter loneliness in the community. I have lived in Bracknell for 46 years and it would be a an honour to serve the Hanworth Community as your local Councillor and I look forward to meeting you all.

Janet Cochrane, Borough Councillor for Hanworth and Town Councillor for Birch Hill & North Lake. Semi-retired, Janet still works part-time for the NHS while also serving as an unpaid carer: hard work but also very rewarding. I care for the local community very much and always try to help and will continue to do so in any way I can. I have lived in Great Hollands since 1984 as a single parent with three sons. On moving to Bracknell, I started work in school welfare and as an infant assistant. I returned to work when family duties allowed, and have had a variety of roles including: administration for 12 years in Wokingham Hospital; in NHS School Nursing, Health Visiting and District Nursing services and, also, for Sheltered Housing for Bracknell Forest Council.
______
Jenny Penfold, Borough and Town Councillor for Hanworth. I have lived in Hanworth for almost 40 years. My children went to the Pines School where I was a very active governor and Chairman for many years. I am involved with the Community Response Team, set up during COVID, and a regular steward at the Vaccine Clinic. I act as a voluntary Appropriate Adult for young people and vulnerable adults who have been arrested and need support for their police interview. I feel it is important to listen to local residents and ensure their views are heard at council meetings. I will hold regular surgeries and will keep you fully informed.

Kath Nugent, Town Councillor for Hanworth. I have lived in Bracknell for over forty years. I was Headteacher at The Pines School in Hanworth and have close ties with the Hanworth community. I was also a governor at Bracknell and Wokingham College. I now work as an advocate providing advocacy support for vulnerable adults and children. I passionately believe that it is important to listen to the views of local people when decisions are being made about local services. As your councillor, I will do my best to voice your views and concerns and to empower Hanworth community residents of all ages.
