Mary Temperton

Mary Temperton, Borough Councillor for Great Hollands, Town Councillor for Great Hollands North and Leader of Bracknell Forest Council.

I have been involved with my community of Great Hollands for over 30 years- ensuring I make a difference and I believe I really have. I help run the community centre, the hub of our community, and ensure it offers good value to local groups and enables all to access its facilities. I help publish and am responsible for the delivery of the popular Great Hollands Matters that keeps everyone informed. I also publish and deliver a six monthly news letter to all residents, keeping them informed of what I have done, the issues concerning Great Hollands and outcomes of the concerns they have raised with me. I have a Council Surgery in the Look In Café every Wednesday from 12 noon until 1.00pm and enjoy chatting to residents as well as resolving their concerns. During Covid, these were held on the benches in front of the Community Centre.

I taught Science at Easthampstead Park School for 22 years and am still a Governor there- responsible for the monitoring the curriculum, for safeguarding and for careers. I help run the Mother and Toddler Group in the Community Centre and also the Friday club from 2-4pm for games and quizzes and laughter. I am on the cross-party group that is helping ensure all are surviving these very difficult times.

I have asked for another £100K to be included in two consecutive budgets to try and resolve the parking issues on Great Hollands. Both times, my motion was rejected both times as this is ‘ not a priority’ by the Conservative Majority. It is certainly the priority if you live here!

I am well known throughout Great Hollands and often stopped and asked to help, or just for an update or a chat. This is what I so love! Great Hollands is a wonderful community and it is a real honour to be able to serve you all. I hope I can continue to do so.

BUT- it will be so much better for Great Hollands if we have three people listening, and resolving the issues. Gerry Webb and Naheed Ejaz have both lived here for over 30 years too and really care about Great Hollands. We all live in different areas- dotted around- like the lionesses of Great Hollands. We will be a superb TEAM. Please vote for all three of us. Six legs are much better than two

As my business provides transport to children with special needs, I have an indepth understanding of disabilities and how to support and help people with them.

As volunteer Chair of Silva Homes’ Customer Partnership Board for the last four years, I have tackled, first-hand, the challenges of affordable social housing and have held the housing association answerable to tenants.

A resident of Great Hollands for the past 38 years, I am standing for election to serve this, my own, superb, community. I would be very proud to be elected to represent you and to act on your behalf.

I am an Early Help Worker, supporting families in crisis, and have been a Guide Leader since 1994 and appreciate the importance of Bracknell Forest’s green spaces. The summer of fun days have been wonderful, providing families free access to activities for their children. It is so good to see families and individuals using these beautiful areas to exercise, play and picnic.

I have lived in Bracknell for 30 years and have brought up my children here and have always used the parks and green spaces. As a Town Councillor, maintaining these to the highest standard will be a priority; ensuring their provision meets all needs from children to adults.

Gerry Webb

Gerry Webb, Borough Councillor for Great Hollands and Town Councillor for Great Hollands South.

My career started as a chemist, working for a local electronics firm. Returning to work as a young Mum at Easthampstead Park School I became a Teaching Assistant supporting students with special needs, and later a Science Technician. I now work as an Examination Officer at Bracknell and Wokingham College.

For 36 years Great Hollands has been a great place to live with my husband and two sons. Being elected to represent this community would be an opportunity to ensure it remains so for all of us.

To serve this community would be a great honour and privilege.
