The Bracknell Labour Party is concerned to hear James Sunderland MP describe Donald Trump as “one of the most successful for keeping the peace since 45”. To describe Trump, in any context, as keeping the peace, is an affront to the January 6 United States Capitol attack and the Charlottesville attack, just to name two.

We are also disturbed that the channel on which he appeared, Conservative Renewal, is fronted by Cllr John Edwards of Sandhurst Town Council, recently co-opted by his fellow Conservatives to sit on the council. Conservative Renewal engages in alt-right rhetoric, engaging in hateful messages about our police force. To do down our much-needed police officers is a reprehensible statement, and we urge the Conservative Party to conduct an investigation into this conduct.
