Bracknell Labour Serving you here
The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has released its latest proposals for the boundaries of our parliamentary constituencies. What does this mean for the Bracknell constituency?
Finchampstead and Wokingham Without will be moved into the Wokingham constituency. Whilst we are sad to lose them, these areas fall under Wokingham Borough Council and a common MP makes sense. Due to the law requiring the BCE not to take into account new ward boundaries after December 1st 2020, some areas will have the same councillors but different MPs. This affects Forest Park, Jennett’s Park, Martins Heron, Quelm Park, and Warfield Park. Whilst some sort of a cut-off date is necessary, this still leaves residents in these areas confused as to their MP – surely there must be a better way of doing this?
The proposals will go through a final period of consultation, ending on December 5th. Please make your views known! https://www.bcereviews.org.uk/
