Sunak Out of his Depth on Green Issues

The UK Government committed to stop the sale of new ICE vehicles from 2030.

Ford Motor Company considered this a catalyst for the greatest change in motorised transport for a century. They have a planned investment of $50Bn to make the change to electric vehicles.

Rishi Sunak has now rowed back from this pledge, jeopardising the investment and undermining Ford’s transition plans.

Ford have said they need “ambition, committment and consistency” to execute their plans – Governments need to support people to make the transition and build the infrastructure.

Sunak’s dithering will cost the country dearly in delayed and inadequate transport options.
